Today's challenge for the children was to replace yes, no and I don't know with ae, kahore or kao and kahore i te mohio.
The teachers challenge was to use two phrases: Haere mai ki te whariki (Please come to the mat) and haere ki to mahi (go to work).
We are a collabrative learning group of Year 3 and 4 students. Our teachers are Mrs Craig in Room 1 and Mrs Clarke in Room 2

Maori Language Week
This week (27 July - 2 August) is Maori Language Week. The theme for this year is Whāngaihia te reo Māori ki ngā mātua': helping parents to pass Te Reo on to their children. We will be having a catch phrase everyday that the children will be encourage to use.
We will also be taking part in a competition through Te Wananga o Aotearoa which is about exploring our whakapapa and learning about our tipuna (ancestors). The competition is to tell their whakapapa through artwork and language. Watch this space for some phrases and images of our entries for the competition.
